Twee op de drie projecten in de procesindustrie krijgen te maken met wijzigingen of meerwerk. Het Optimalisatiemodel van VOMI laat zien hoe dit de effectiviteit van projecten beïnvloedt.

Het Optimalisatiemodel staat in een flyer die door de VOMI Commissie Optimalisatie is samengesteld. Hier is sinds eind 2019 aan gewerkt. Doel is het effect van verstoringen te kwantificeren. Voor de directe kosten van zo’n wijziging was dit al wel mogelijk.

Optimalisatiemodel

In een oogopslag is op de flyer te zien wat voor effect wijzigingen op de uitvoering van projecten hebben. Dit wordt aan de hand van negen misvattingen aangegeven, zoals: ‘Het uitvoeren van meerwerk veroorzaakt geen noemenswaardige verstoringen in jullie logistieke organisatie.’ In werkelijkheid hebben wijzigingen een effectiviteitsverlies van 50 procent op de logistiek van een project.

Sluitstuk

De introductie van de flyer is volgens VOMI het sluitstuk om kennis over projectbeheersing in de sector uit te kunnen dragen. Andere elementen zijn het Handboek ‘Projectbeheersing in de bouw en voor installatietechnische werken’ en de Masterclass Optimalisatiemodel VOMI die door de VOMI Academie wordt gegeven.

Insight into project changes thanks to VOMI optimisation model

Two out of three projects in the process industry are confronted with changes or additional work. VOMI’s Optimalisatiemodel shows how this affects the effectiveness of projects.

The Optimisalisatiemodel is contained in a flyer compiled by the VOMI Committee on Optimisation. This has been worked on since the end of 2019. The aim is to quantify the effect of disruptions. This was already possible for the direct costs of such a change.

Misconceptions

The flyer shows at a glance what effect changes have on the implementation of projects. This is indicated on the basis of nine misconceptions, such as: ‘Performing additional work does not cause any significant disruptions in your logistics organisation’. In reality, changes have a 50 per cent loss of effectiveness on the logistics of a project.

Final element

According to VOMI, the introduction of the flyer is the final element in disseminating knowledge about project control in the sector. Other elements are the Handbook ‘Project control in construction and for installation works’ and the Masterclass ‘Optimisation model VOMI’, which is given by the VOMI Academy.
