Het Havenbedrijf Rotterdam maakt de komst van Braskem naar Rotterdam bekend. De biopolymerenproducent verplaatst zijn opslag vanuit Antwerpen naar de Nederlandse haven.

Het Braziliaanse petrochemische bedrijf wil van zijn nieuwe opslag voor biopolymeren in Rotterdam de strategische hub maken voor de Europese en Aziatische markt. Managing director Geer van der Ven van Rotterdam Polymer Hub is ingenomen met de komst van Braskem. “Dankzij de ondersteuning van het Havenbedrijf Rotterdam, de overtuigende voordelen van de haven van Rotterdam en de expertise van Rotterdam Polymer Hub heeft Braskem overtuigd gekozen voor Rotterdam als opslagplaats voor bioplastics.” Emile Hoogsteden, directeur commercie bij het Havenbedrijf Rotterdam, spreekt van een mijlpaal: “Het is onze ambitie om verdere groei van bioplastics en polymeren te accommoderen.”

Bereikbaarheid

Volgens Kristina Becker, leader feedstock and raw material planning & strategy bij Braskem Europe, hebben de duurzaamheidsambities van het havenbedrijf een rol gespeeld bij het besluit. “Verder speelt de bereikbaarheid en goede weginfrastructuur van de Rotterdamse haven een grote rol. In combinatie met de state-of-the-art opslagfaciliteit van Rotterdam Polymer Hub heeft Braskem groot vertrouwen in de samenwerking.”

Port Authority confirms arrival of biopolymer producer

The Port of Rotterdam Authority announces the arrival of Braskem in Rotterdam. The biopolymers producer is moving its storage from Antwerp to the Dutch port.

The Brazilian petrochemical company wants to make its new storage for biopolymers in Rotterdam the strategic hub for the European and Asian markets. These biopolymers are made from bioethanol. Braskem is moving into the Rotterdam Polymer Hub, the storage facility for plastics and polymers that opened in 2018. The news was already known at the end of last year, and is now confirmed by the Port of Rotterdam Authority.

In combination with the state-of-the-art storage facility of Rotterdam Polymer Hub, Braskem has great confidence in the cooperation.”
