Het ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat heeft toegezegd dat het voorstel van FutureCarbonNL wordt ingediend bij het Nationaal Groeifonds. “Dit is de kroon op onze inspanningen.”

FutureCarbonNL is een samenwerkingsverband van Nederlandse universiteiten, kennisinstellingen, industrie, mkb en start-ups. Het richt zich op onderzoek, ontwikkeling, demonstratie en afzet van technologieën die CO2 en CO omzetten in nieuwe, duurzame materialen, brandstoffen en (dier)voeding. Volgens het samenwerkingsverband is Nederland in staat om zich te ontwikkelen tot internationaal koploper op het gebied van Carbon Capture Utilization (CCU).

Nationaal Groeifonds

FutureCarbonNL richt zich in eerste instantie op biologische, elektro/fotochemische, thermokatalytische conversietechnologieën en op geïntegreerde afvang en conversie. Het heeft hiervoor een voorstel gemaakt, dat voor 70 procent klaar is. Dat weerhield het ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat er niet van om het in te dienen voor de derde ronde van het Nationaal Groeifonds. “Dit is al een kroon op onze inspanningen. We gaan de komende tijd aan de slag met de feedback van EZK en de inhoud verder optimaliseren”, aldus Martijn de Graaff, program director industrial transformation bij TNO.

FutureCarbonNL plan to Nationaal Groeifonds

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate has agreed to submit FutureCarbonNL’s proposal to the Nationaal Groeifonds. “This is the crowning glory of our efforts.”

FutureCarbonNL is a partnership of Dutch universities, knowledge institutions, industry, SMEs and start-ups. It focuses on research, development, demonstration and marketing of technologies that convert CO2 and CO into new, sustainable materials, fuels and (animal) food. According to the partnership, the Netherlands is capable of becoming an international leader in Carbon Capture Utilisation (CCU).

Third round

FutureCarbonNL focuses initially on biological, electro/photochemical, thermo-catalytic conversion technologies and integrated capture and conversion. It has prepared a proposal for these, which is 70 per cent ready. That did not stop the Ministry of Economy and Climate from submitting it for the third round of the Nationaal Groeifonds. “This is already a crown to our efforts. We are going to work on the feedback from EZK in the coming period and further optimise the content,” said Martijn de Graaff, programme director industrial transformation at TNO.
