Hierbij komen de utilities in het bezit van de investeringspartner. Royal HaskoningDHV en SPIE nemen het verduurzamen, beheer, onderhoud en werking voor hun rekening. De voormalige asset owner neemt het gebruik van de utilities af. “Op deze manier worden de utilities toekomstvast, duurzaam en voorspelbaar, zonder een directe, vaak grote, investering van de betreffende industriële partner. Zo kunnen ze effectief meebewegen met de veranderende energiebehoefte van de Europese industrie”, aldus de twee bedrijven.
