Air Liquide heeft samen met TotalEnergies een joint venture opgezet. Ze willen een netwerk van waterstoftankstations voor vrachtwagens in Europa ontwikkelen.

De twee bedrijven hebben elk een aandeel van 50 procent in de nieuwe joint venture. Air Liquide en TotalEnergies zeggen in de nieuwe onderneming hun kennis op het gebied van infrastructuur, waterstofdistributie en -mobiliteit te combineren. Activiteiten joint venture

De stations zullen het merk ‘TotalEnergies’ voeren. De joint venture zal de investering, de bouw en de exploitatie van de tankstations voor haar rekening nemen. Ook zal zij waterstof inkopen en verdelen onder haar klanten. Thierry Pflimlin, president marketing & services van TotalEnergies, zegt uit te kijken naar de samenwerking met Air Liquide. “Als pioniers in waterstofmobiliteit zijn we overtuigd van de noodzaak om nu een heavy-duty netwerk uit te bouwen waarvan onze klanten zullen profiteren. Dit nieuwe partnerschap met Air Liquide stelt ons in staat om onze ontwikkeling in de hele waterstofketen voort te zetten.”

Ambitie

Volgens Matthieu Giard, verantwoordelijk voor de waterstofactiviteiten bij Air Liquide, biedt waterstof ‘duidelijke voordelen’ voor zware mobiliteit. “Om het grootschalig gebruik ervan te bevorderen, is het absoluut noodzakelijk de ontwikkeling van tankinfrastructuur te versnellen en voertuigfabrikanten en transportfirma’s een voldoende dicht netwerk van stations aan te bieden. Dat is precies de ambitie van deze joint venture, die zal beschikken over de complementaire expertise van Air Liquide en TotalEnergies. Air Liquide with TotalEnergies in joint venture

Air Liquide has set up a joint venture with TotalEnergies. They want to develop a network of hydrogen filling stations for trucks in Europe.

The two companies each have a 50 per cent stake in the new joint venture. Air Liquide and TotalEnergies say the new venture will combine their expertise in infrastructure, hydrogen distribution and mobility. The aim is to build over 100 hydrogen filling stations on major arterial roads in the Benelux, France and Germany in the coming years.

Filling stations

The stations will carry the ‘TotalEnergies’ brand. The joint venture will take care of the investment, construction and operation of the filling stations. It will also purchase and distribute hydrogen to its customers. Thierry Pflimlin, President Marketing & Services of TotalEnergies, said he is looking forward to the partnership with Air Liquide. “As pioneers in hydrogen mobility, we are convinced of the need to build a heavy-duty network now that will benefit our customers. This new partnership with Air Liquide allows us to continue our development across the hydrogen chain.”

Ambition
