Plastic recycling

English translation ->

Bilfinger steps into plastic recycling

Bilfinger has signed a cooperation agreement with Umincorp. Together, they want to build several plastic recycling plants.

It is a long-term EPC (engineering, procurement & construction) contract between the two companies. The Dutch subsidiary Bilfinger Tebodin will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of the plants. Another subsidiary of the industrial service provider, the German Bilfinger Greylogix, supports the factories with automation.

Standardise technology

Amsterdam-based Umincorp – with Ikea as one of the shareholders – contributes its patented Magnetic Density Separation (MDS) technology. This allows 40 percent more plastics to be recycled and the quality of the output is 10 percent better than current recycling methods. Bilfinger will help to standardise the technology so that it can be rolled out internationally.

Prefebricated modules

First, Umincorp and Bilfinger will build an installation in the Netherlands, where they can gain experience with the design, engineering, procurement and collaboration with suppliers. In this way, the construction of factories can perhaps be accelerated through the use of prefabricated modules instead of separate parts.
