Dow heeft definitief drie industriële terminals aan de Amerikaanse oostkust overgedaan aan Vopak en het Global Energy & Power Infrastructure Fund van investeerder BlackRock.
Vopak en het Global Energy & Power Infrastructure Fund (GEPIF) hebben hiervoor de joint venture Vopak Industrial Infrastructure Americas LCC opgericht. Ze betalen Dow 620 miljoen dollar voor de drie terminals.
Langlopende serviceafspraken
De drie terminals zijn allemaal gevestigd naast een productielocatie van Dow. Vopak Industrial Infrastructure Americas heeft met Dow langlopende serviceafspraken gemaakt voor opslag- en infrastructurele diensten.
Opslagcapaciteit
Bij elkaar opgeteld hebben de terminals een opslagcapaciteit van 852.000 kubieke meter. De terminal in Freeport, Texas, heeft 53 tanks (140.000 m3) waarin chemicaliën worden opgeslagen. Die in St. Charles, Louisiana, is groter, met 73 tanks die samen goed zijn voor een opslagcapaciteit van 409.000 m3. Ook hier worden chemicaliën in opgeslagen. De derde terminal, in Plaquemine, Louisiana, telt 30 opslagtanks (303.000 m3), waarin chemicaliën en geraffineerde producten worden opgeslagen. Bij de terminals horen verder 16,4 hectare aan terrein, 36 ligplaatsen voor schepen en verschillende pijpleidingen.
